We’ve all been there, we know we should hold the elevator door for someone rushing to catch it, but we’re in a hurry so we look the other way. It feels awful, and yet there are times when we just don’t feel charitable or maybe we just feel downright annoyed.
When you find yourself annoyed by someone or something try to bring your attention to the feelings and maybe dig further into why you’re really irritated, what’s really bothering you? You may find that there is nothing, but that your’e simply resisting what is happening at the present moment.
Also, try to remember that for each idiosyncracy that bothers you in someone, you have equally annoying habits and ticks; this might help bring you back to the practice of compassion and understanding.
And when it comes to charity, if you’re thinking of stepping on the accelerator and pretending you don’t see the car near you trying to merge into your lane, remember the last time someone was kind enough to help you.
These are very minor acts of charity of course, but you have the opportunity everyday to look inside yourself and find love, compassion and patience. Let that seed plant itself deep inside, and nurture it — let it grow like kudzu.
When it comes to the big stuff, being there for another person is one of the most selfless acts there is, and we’ve all been the receiving end of someone’s kindness and tolerance. So, remember to flip the script every chance you get.
The first to help you up are the ones who know how it feels to fall down. And, at some point in our lives, we all fall down. Be there to help someone else get back up.

I find that our feelings towards others and outer circumstances are a reflection of something going on on the inside. True reflection on our annoyance with others can lead to real growth.

Such honestly here…yes those days are usually a reaction to some anger or resentment…I find it best to write about it in my journal or talk it out with a trusted friend…then I can let it go and face with world with more grace…thanks for the reminder…xomeryl
